ABOUT ME
I'm happily married with two dogs and plans to grow our family right here in Saskatoon.
I started out as the emcee for friends' and family's weddings, and I really enjoyed being able to contribute in a meaningful way to their special day. In 2018 I was approached by two close friends who asked if I could perform their ceremony, and that's when I applied to be a marriage commissioner.
My career as a lawyer means I have plenty of experience with paperwork and formalities, but we all know a wedding is so much more than that. This has become my way of connecting with the community and celebrating love. I would be honoured to play a part in your special day, however big or small it may be.

The basic legal requirements completed in front of a crowd. No muss, no fuss.
If you don't want any extras in your ceremony, this one's for you.

Simple ceremony with the opportunity to add personal touches. Includes a planning meeting via Zoom or in person to help choose any custom touches you wish to include in your day.

Want a practice run-through of your ceremony so your wedding party knows who goes where and when?
I'm happy to meet you at the rehearsal with your wedding party.
DO YOU PERFORM CEREMONIES OUTSIDE OF SASKATOON?
I'm able to perform ceremonies in Saskatoon and surrounding area. Additional costs for mileage may apply.

CAN A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER PERFORM THE CEREMONY FOR US?
While your friend or family member can't perform a ceremony that would result in a legal marriage, I can work with you to provide you with the best of both worlds: the ceremony of your choice and a legally recognized marriage.
CAN WE INCLUDE RELIGIOUS RITES OR READINGS?
Marriage commissioners in Saskatchewan aren't allowed to perform religious rites or religious readings during ceremonies.

If you would like to include readings of a religious nature, we can plan to include them either before or after the civil ceremony requirements have been completed, but they will have to be read by someone other than me.
ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON THE TYPES OF CEREMONIES YOU'LL PERFORM?
I'm not crazy about spiders, snakes or heights, so if you're looking to include any of those in your ceremony, it may require a little coaxing on my part.

On a serious note, I can only perform ceremonies between parties who are capable of providing their free consent to being married, are not currently married to another person, and are not related.

I'm a strong believer in marriage equality. It would be my absolute pleasure to provide my services to members of YXE's LGBTQ+ community!
WHAT DOES COVID-19 MEAN FOR OUR CEREMONY?
Ceremonies will have to adhere to all public health orders and guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health or other government agencies or bodies that may apply.

If needed, I can perform marriage ceremonies over Zoom, Skype or other video conferencing software. I'd be happy to work with you to make that happen, but I'll need to know as far in advance as possible so I can make the necessary arrangements.
